How to get your feet back in a carpet
We all know that carpet can be a bit of a pain in the arse, and we know that it can get pretty grubby if you have a few feet to spare.
Luckily, there are some things you can do to help make your carpet look great, while still being able to walk around in comfort.
So let’s tackle the biggest challenges carpet owners face, from the most common carpet problems to the less common problems that come up.1.
Wearing too much stuff on your feetFirst, don’t get too carried away with the idea of buying a new carpet.
A new carpet should only be bought if you absolutely must.
If you do buy a carpet, make sure it’s the right one for you, and be sure to get the right type of material.
A carpet with a natural feel is a good option for you to choose.
You can also try the natural feel carpet that’s been tested and recommended by carpet experts.
If it’s not a natural feeling carpet, a synthetic one may be right for you.2.
Not washing your feet properlyBefore you start working on a new piece of carpet, it’s important to wash your feet thoroughly and properly, and avoid using harsh detergents and soaps that can cause irritation.
Also, it helps to wear comfortable shoes, and don’t wear tight-fitting shoes.3.
Not using a water-resistant surfaceBefore you get your new carpet on your foot, you’ll need to get rid of any old bits and pieces of carpet that are left.
If there’s anything left, it should be cleaned with mild soap and water.
The surface should be rinsed clean of dirt, dust, grime and any debris.4.
Not putting your feet under waterThere are some products on the market that will help you to keep your feet water-tight, but you’ll still need to make sure they’re not getting wet from the inside out.
This can be achieved by using a damp sponge to wipe them with, or by putting some water-based lint-free cleaning products on them.
If your carpet has a natural-wicking effect, then it should only need to be washed once.5.
Not placing your feet on the carpet before you’re readyFor the best results, you should be able to get it on your carpet as soon as you’re done working on it.
If not, then you’ll have to take it off.
If this doesn’t work for you or you have any other issues, then the best thing to do is to buy a new one.6.
Not leaving your feet uncoveredAfter you’ve finished cleaning your carpet, you need to put it back in its original place.
If possible, then put it somewhere that doesn’t touch the ground, or away from people, or your car.7.
Washing your feet too soonThe time it takes for your feet to be dry on a regular basis is usually between 1 and 3 weeks, depending on how hard you work.
If that’s too much time, then try to get a fresh coat of nail polish on each foot.
If nails are hard and not as long, then a pair of shoes can be an alternative.
If they’re hard, then an old pair of boots may be best.8.
Not making sure your feet aren’t wetThe sooner you clean your carpet and apply your new coat of polish, the better.
If the area that you’re cleaning is wet, then any lingering dirt, grub and grime will probably cause it to stick to the surface.
Make sure to use a damp towel to wipe it with, and then dry your shoes thoroughly.9.
Not taking it to the cleanersAfter you have cleaned your carpet in step two, it is a bad idea to start cleaning again until you have washed your feet.
The same goes for getting your shoes and socks wet again.
If cleaning your shoes is difficult or not practical, then putting a pair on will be an option, but it may take some time.
